All Learning Centers, the Academic Resource Center and Tutor Center will be closed Dec. 25-28 and Jan. 1. Jan. 2, limited counseling services will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Main Post Education Center, Building 217.
The ARC will be open its regular hours Jan. 3-4, but the Tutor Center will be closed.
Normal hours for all services will resume Jan. 5.

Chapels to reopen

Visitor pass procedure changed
All visitors requiring access to Fort Riley between 9 p.m. and midnight need to get a visitor pass at Henry Gate off of I-70 at Exit 301. Visitors are those individuals who don’t DoD identification card.
Visitors will still be allowed to get a visitor’s pass at all three main gates (Henry, Trooper and Ogden) Monday through Sunday after 5 a.m. and before 9 p.m.
Visitors are not allowed on post between midnight and 5 a.m.
Border Patrol reps to visit
Representatives from the U.S. Border Patrol will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Army Career and Alumni Program’s center in Building 210, Room 006 on Main Post.
The Border Patrol is looking to fill full-time position GS-1896-5/7, Border Patrol Agent positions to work on the U.S. southwest border along Arizona, California, New Mexico, South Texas and West Texas.

TIPS hotline open for calls
The Fort Riley Police Investigations Section has installed a new TIPS line in order to improve its services to the community.
The line will be used to assist the investigations section with gathering information people may have, but are afraid or unwilling to come forward with. People can call the TIPS line at 239-TIPS with any information dealing with crimes such as drugs, thefts, damages, etc.
Individuals may, but are not required to, leave their name.
Vehicles must be registered
All active duty Soldiers who are permanently assigned to Fort Riley and Department of the Army civilians employed on Fort Riley are required by regulation to register their privately owned vehicles on post.
Newly assigned Soldiers who have decals from other installations must update their records at the Vehicle Registration Office, Building 885, adjacent to Henry Gate, and receive updated date and installation identifier stickers.
To register a vehicle on post, drivers must show a valid driver’s license, state vehicle registration and proof of insurance for that vehicle. Individuals with temporary tags may obtain an extended pass for up to 30 days from the Vehicle Registration Office while waiting for permanent state registration.
Extended passes may be obtained from the Vehicle Registration Office for visiting friends or Family members. This will be enforced to increase traffic flow through the access control points.
CID offers $500 reward
The Criminal Investigation Command is seeking information leading to the identification, apprehension, and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the offense of larceny. A utility trailer was stolen sometime Nov. 9 from the FMWR Outdoor Recreation Center, Building 9011 Rifle Range Rd.

Post penalizes bad drivers
On the recommendation of the Directorate of Emergency Services, the garrison commander may suspend installation driving privileges for personal- and government-owned vehicles for up to 60 days for individuals who receive three nonmoving violations, such as illegal parking, within a six month period.
The commander may suspend installation driving privileges for POVs and GOVs for up to six months for individuals who receive three moving violations within a six-month period. Moving violations include all those listed in the Kansas Administrative Regulation 92-52-9 and Fort Riley Regulation 190-5.
Also included are cell phone use while driving, no insurance, failure to wear PPE on a motorcycle and failure to wear a seat belt.
Based upon the severity of the violation and the gross negligence of the driver, the commander may suspend installation driving privileges for up to six months for just one citation.

701st BSB to host dining out
The 701st Brigade Support Battalion will host its Military Dining Out at 5 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Junction City Courtyard by Marriott. Tickets are available for $30 per person and by calling 785-240-3556 or 785-239-1108. Seating is limited so early RSVP is recommended.
ASAP offers training
The Fort Riley Army Substance Abuse Program conducts monthly classes for Soldiers in the rank of sergeant and above who have been selected by unit commanders to assist them as an ASAP subject matter expert.
During the certification process, Soldiers learn how to administer the Unit Biochemical Testing program; assist commanders in briefing new unit personnel regarding ASAP policies, procedures and services; and how to develop, manage and facilitate the ASAP prevention education program to their Soldiers.
Classes are scheduled for Jan. 27-29 and Feb. 24-26.
The Unit Prevention Leader Certification Course has a rigorous, three-day curriculum with a required final test to achieve UPL certification. The course will be taught from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each scheduled day at the Digital Learning Center, Building 7285.

ASAP offers suicide prevention class
The Fort Riley Suicide Prevention Program will conduct Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training classes monthly.
Class is scheduled for Dec. 4-5. The two-day classes will be taught in the basement classroom at Riley’s Conference Center from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

Shuttle service runs on post
Fort Riley shuttle service has a single bus that runs on holidays and weekends. Because there only will be one bus running at those times, riders should remember wait times will be greater than during the week.
The three buses that run during the week have staggered start times, beginning at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and noon. All three buses run from noon to 5 p.m., and at least one bus continues through 8 p.m.
Stay alert
All units will instruct their Soldiers and Families to remain vigilant to possible threat to the Greater Fort Riley Community. Fort Riley law enforcement occasionally receives information about possible threats both on and off Fort Riley. All DoD personnel should be aware of their responsibility to report suspicious activity to Fort Riley law enforcement authorities at 239-6767.

Eyster Pool open to units only
Eyster Pool is temporarily closed for recreational swimming and all classes to comply with the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act, which requires swimming pool drains of U.S. public and federal pools to be modified with an unlockable and anti-entrapment device.
Eyster Pool will be available for military training only.

Youth Sports slates tubing trip
Youth Sports and Fitness will host Outdoor Adventure Snow Tubing from 1 to 10 p.m. Dec. 30. at Snow Creek in Weston, Mo., for students in grades three through 12. Corps sets Eagle Day
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Tuttle Creek Reservoir will host its annual Eagle Day excursion beginning at 9 a.m. Jan. 3. Participants will meet at the fire station located at the intersection of Kimball and Denison Avenues in Manhattan where they will listen to two presentations by area biologists before heading out to view eagles around the lake. The Lyric Arts Trio is a classical chamber music ensemble of clarinet, soprano voice and piano.
