The Fort Riley Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation will host a Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt at Riley’s Conference Center on April 4. The Easter Brunch will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Easter Egg Hunt will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Tickets for the Easter Brunch are $13.95 for adults, $6.95 for children, and all kids under 5 years old eat free.
The Easter Brunch will have a full breakfast and lunch buffet and made to order omelets.
The Easter Bunny will be hopping around to take photos with Families – so remember to bring the camera.
Although reservations for the Easter Brunch are not required, they are preferred.
The Eater Egg Hunt, a free event, also will be on the conference center grounds.
“This will be a great way to celebrate the holiday.
All the activities will be held on site at Riley’s, so parents can enjoy the day at one convenient location,” said Jillian Singleton, business manager for Riley’s Conference Center.
Bouncy inflatables will be available for children, and Child, Youth and School Services will have other booths and tables with games and information.
More than 6,000 plastic eggs will be filled with candy and toys for participants to find.
The egg hunt will be broken down into four different hunting areas – areas for children ages 0-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8. The hunts will start at various times in order to give parents of multiple children the opportunity to participate in more than one hunt.
“The Easter Egg Hunt is an overall safe, Family fun activity. The day will have a little something for everyone in the Family to participate in,” said Travis Engle, DFMWR special events recreation programmer.
In addition to the Easter Brunch and Egg Hunt, a sunrise service at Morris Hill Chapel will take place at 6:45 a.m.
“This is a beautiful chapel that holds about 300 people. The service will be special and memorable, and for the first time, it will be held inside,” said Pfc. Christine Fawcett, who works with a chaplain assistant. “We want to give Soldiers and their Families a chance for fellowship if they plan to stay here for the holiday.”
The sunrise service will have a military quartet and a local gospel choir on the program.
